Location: Bertini Park, West Dayton Hill Road
Its Spring! The sun is shining and the plants are growing! In this program, participants will get outside and learn about various plants and animals that inhabit the world around them. Participants will also collect, observe and identify plants, rocks and minerals. Come on out and see what nature has to offer!

Friday Night Science Fun

Ages 8-12

6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Location:  Outdoors @ Community Lake Pavilion
There’s nothing like some science to kick off the weekend! Saturday Science programs will involve exciting projects for students to burn off some of that built up energy from the week. Activities will include exciting and engaging science labs for kids to collaborate on. If inclement weather, program will be moved to Wallingford Park and Rec STEM Room

Participants will create structures to hold weight and allow a vehicle to travel across it.

Participants will engage in a fun hands-on chemistry experiment.

Participants will envision and design a paper roller coaster.
Friday, June 11 - Film Canister Rockets 2005.229
Participants will build and conduct multiple trials as they launch a film canister rocket

The great minds at LEGO have provided the tools and means for us to use their fun kits to do more advanced STEM and computer science. LEGO WeDo and LEGO Mindstorms are a great way for students to explore a different side of robotics that includes engineering through interesting building challenges, programming, and innovative thinking with high interest materials.
This session will offer different challenges from our Spring 2021 Session.

Who knew that physics could be so fun? Hone your designing, building, and teamwork skills
with these exciting motion and physics related Rube Goldberg related challenges with Legos,
K’NEX, car building, robotics and more.

This is a fun program for all who are interested in Art connections to STEM. Each day we will explore a wide range of topics from Robotics, Science, Engineering Art and Math that will result in a variety of Make and Take projects including Chemistry! This program will be high engagement, hands-on, and interactive!

Course Number 2006.322     STEM Ozobot Go For The Gold Virtual Beginner Level
Date: July 19 to July 23      Time:  10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.      Ages:   8 – 14
Location: Online Only        Fee:    $150 (includes robot)

Ozobot is a robotic platform that empowers coding & STEAM education for participants. Participants will learn two ways to code with and without screens. This program will be led by an experienced STEM educator Kerry O’Sullivan. and participants keep their robot! Please note that this program will require participants to pick up their ozobot prior to camp starting. Prior
to the program, a Google Meet Code will be shared with registered participants.
Participants may pick up their materials between July 14 - 16.
 
Course No:  2006.323   Ozobot Go For The Gold Virtual Advanced Level
Date: July 26 to July 28       Time: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.     Ages: 8 – 14     Fee: $30
For participants who have participated in our Winter Beginner Level Sessions and Summer 2021 Beginner Level. Participants must use their Ozobot from the Winter Programs. This program
will be led by an experienced STEM educator Kerry O’Sullivan
 
Course Number: 2006.328    STEM Computer Coding, Game Design and More
Date: August 2 to 6               Time: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.   Ages: 9-14         Fee: $50
In this course, participants will explore the wonderful world of coding and video game design. Students will learn key concepts of coding on Google CS First and use block coding platform to create their own video games. Participants will share their video games with friends and family and continue adding to them after the program is over. Come put your problem-solving
skills to the test and show your creativity. No previous experience is required!
There is no additional materials kit required for this program.
This program will be led by Laura Juarez.
 
Course Number: 2006.344        STEM VEX Code VR
Date: June 28 – July 2              Time: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Ages: 9 – 14   Fee: $35
VEXcode VR lets you code a virtual robot using a block based coding environment powered by Scratch Blocks. VEXcode VR is based on VEXcode, the same programming environment
used for VEX 123, GO, IQ and V5 robots. We all know that robots make Computer Science (CS) come to life with real world applications. There is no additional materials kit
required for this program. The program instructor will be Hassan Bourhrous.
Hassan is a STEM educator who specializes in technology education and an internationally experienced educator. This session will offer different topics from previous sessions.
 
Course Number 2006.331           STEM  Python Coding (NEW)
Date:  June 28 to July 2            Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.   Age:  13 to 18     Fee: $50
Python coding participants will create a project, test the project, make revisions and retest the project. Come join us for this engaging form of coding.
There is no additional materials kit required for this program.
The program instructor will be Hassan Bourhrous. Hassan is a STEM educator who specializes in technology education and an internationally experienced educator.
This session will offer different topics from our Winter 2021 Session.
 
VEX IQ Robotics Competition Team – Fall Program Announcement
Fall and Winter 2021 for Ages 11 – 14
Meeting Times: Saturdays 9 – 12 beginning in late September

This program offers students a rich and exciting introduction to advanced levels of VEX IQ Robotics. The program encourages teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills along with the basics of coding, building a robot, while exploring related STEM applications.
