1500.302 CLAY BONANZA – 3D ART Ages 7 - 10
Children will create animals like giraffes, elephants, imaginary beings like dragons, monsters, even food items using colorful Crayola Model Magic. Color mixing and gluing mixed media like paper, wood pieces and found objects will add to the fun and creativity. Famous works by artists will also be explored to replicate some in colorful clay on canvas.
1500.303 CONSTRUCT YOUR SELF, WRITE YOUR STORY: MASK MAKING WORKSHOP FOR KIDS AGES 7-10
Children will construct an imaginary self by making their own mask. Participants will personalize and embellish their masks with paints, clay, wood, markers, decorative papers, stickers, feathers, fur and more. Based on their masks, children will write a story or poem starring the one-of-a-kind persona they have created via the mask. Other subjects for masks of mythological monsters and animals will also be explored to add to the story. All materials included.
1500.308 CREATIVITY LAB AGES 7-12
In this workshop we will create layered artwork using ink and printing techniques. Explore fun tape resist, paints, and paper collage! Come use your creativity and have fun learning something new.
1500.309 WOOD, WIRE, AND CLAY! AGES 7-12
We will be constructing fun and functional wood projects using wood shapes, dowels, and armature wire. We will also create clay impressions and paints to finish off our designs. A great variety of supplies to inspire every budding artist!
1500.304 SCULPTING FANTASY CREATURES Ages 6 - 10
In this class we will explore building fantasy creatures out of a variety of mediums which will allow students to express their creativity. We will make a variety of different mythical creatures and learn about the lore behind each. Dragons, gnomes, mermaids, fairies, witches, unicorns, griffins, Anubis, trolls and more. Every day will be an exploration of a different culture’s creatures.
1500.310 JUST HANGIN’ AROUND AGES 7-12
Our weeks’ worth of projects that move will include a vibrant mobile inspired by Calder. Students will be design their own theme choosing from a great assortment of colored wire, metal foils, and more fun accents. The other projects to choose from will be a summer windsock and a cool multimedia dream catcher.
Piano for Beginners
Piano lessons for the very beginner. Class will emphasize basic fundamental such as keyboard orientation, fingering, and hand positioning. Students will learn how to write and read notes and rhythms. Concepts will be reinforced with fun games.
